Luck of the positive kind doesn't run in our family at the moment. Although this in the grand scheme of things isn't that massive, it was to a very upset 13 year old boy.
The week before the schools broke up, Scott cycled to school as he does from time to time on his new bmx bike. Being so proud of this new bike and excited about having it, wanting to show it off to his friends at every opportunity he set off. On arrival at school Scott went to the bicycle shed to lock his bike up for the day. He wrapped the lock around the wheel and frame and secured it to the cycle rack. He left his bike and went into school for the day. At 15:05 he left school and set off home after a long day at school. Realising a few minutes later that he had taken his bike that day ran back to school to collect his pride and joy.
He approached the racks and realised with a cold and scared feeling, that the bike was not there any longer. In floods of tears he rang me but unfortunately I was working and didn't get his call until an hour later. By this time he had walked back to my friends house where he was still crying and extremely distraught. I made my escape from work as soon as I found out to comfort him. I arrived at my friends house and got the story from scott about the bike.
I decided that having rang the police to report it we should go straight up to the school and look around for ourselves. No luck at finding it, which if Im honst I wasn't expecting to. We walked through the school to try and find someone who might be able to help us locate cctv etc.
Anyway we did find the temporary head teacher who was trying to be as helpful as possible but alas I didn't have a lot of faith in her.
As it turned our there are cctv cameras there but when they looked at them the following day, amazingly they couldn't see anyone steel the bike. All very odd and I think there was more to this than meets they eye. I fear I will never really know the truth behind this mystery. If anyone reading this can give me any clues it would be very much appreciated.
